3 percent of the decision-making in media comes from women. That means 97 percent of how women are portrayed is decided on by men.

It also means that 97 percent of how men are portrayed in media are decided on by men. Something to remind MRAs and their ilk of when they complain about the stereotype of men as inept slobs, bad fathers, etc in media and advertising.

Men have the power. So when we men are shat on by the powers that be you don’t get to try and blame women for that.

There’s no such thing as an inferior people. There are oppressed people. And they’re not oppressed by superior people. They are oppressed by people who are better organized than they are.

The reason why the Klu Klux Klan terrorizes us is because they are organized. They have meetings every week and their members go to the meetings. They discuss racist ideology. They internalize it and then they mobilize it. They even make uniforms for that.

Not many of us can say we go to meetings every week for the people.

La Cosecha / The Harvest (2011)

“Every year there are more than 400,000 American children who are torn away from their friends, schools and homes to pick the food we all eat.  Zulema, Perla and Victor labor as migrant farm workers, sacrificing their own childhoods to help their families survive.  The Harvest / La Cosecha profiles these three as they journey from the scorching heat of Texas’ onion fields to the winter snows of the Michigan apple orchards and back south to the humidity of Florida’s tomato fields to follow the harvest and provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of these children who struggle to dream while working 12 – 14 hours a day, 7 days a week to feed America.”

just goes to show you that not consuming animals does not mean you are supporting a system that is cruelty free
